I'm back!

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post! I vow to do better. There hasn't been much new going on with us, just the usual. A couple highlights was seeing my sister from Colorado (has it been two weeks already??) and my nieces and nephews-I still hate that you are gone!! Also, I am a new auntie again! My new niece Rose Hollin was born July 18th and she is an absolute beauty! She reminds me a lot of my other niece, who I haven't seen in person yet, Luci. But I will be seeing little Luci in about two weeks!! Can't wait!

We have a climber here.

Three times when I entered the kitchen yesterday, I found a monkey climbing on the counter.

Jonnie was always a big climber (still is) and I was hoping that would skip Sawyer.
Guess not......

Yesterday was just one of those days and nothing went right. Here are a few highlights...
*woke up with a crick in my neck
*Sawyer was the whiniest kid in the world and he is never that way!
*Alaina changed her fish bowl by herself and forgot to use the special prepared water (have I mentioned how many fish we have gone through) and stuck straight tap water in it. I was waiting to find it belly up when I heard she used the wrong water, until....
*Sawyer decided to "feed" the fish and dumped the whole bag of fish food in the bowl-poor fish-we couldn't even see it in all the mucky water. It turned out to be a blessing because we cleaned it out and put the right water in there-he is still alive!
*ran out of diapers and my extra stash was missing.
*Went to get into the car to drive and get diapers and the car door was locked and my keys were in it-Jonnie had that look on his face and confessed he was playing with it. After some frustrating moments I finally found the extra set (:
*All three kids were naughty at Target and Jonnie was asked not to climb on the shelves by a Target employee-I was glad (: Sawyer whined the whole time for a ball, couldn't find anything I wanted, and we left in a rush.
*I got home and as I was getting Sawyer to sleep, Jonnie and Alaina were playing REALLY loud in her room and woke up Jon-I guessed I yelled at them (I don't remember that part:)) and told them to use there brains. Later I received a note from them telling me I am mean and they don't want to talk to me anymore. Surprisingly it was scented with perfume (:
Needless to say they were all in bed by 8:30 and today was a much better day (: I guess we all have those days, right?
This weekend is the annual Pennock Fun Days so more pictures to come. We have a pet show tomorrow night and Mr. Oliver is going. Alaina is beyond excited!

Day at the beach

Yesterday, the kids and I spent the day at the lake. It was the perfect hot day and the water was the perfect temperature-we all had a lot of fun!

Alaina was trying to teach Jonnie how to swim..it was really sweet!

In looking at this picture, you would think my kids never ate.........

Sun, sand, and water really tire a guy out.
Not much else new our way. Just enjoying summer which is flying by way too fast!!

Alaina has been busy being a mom to her new guinea pig named Oliver or "Ollie" for short. He is adorable and I am having fun with him, too!

He even has a leash he wears when going outside.

Jonnie has been busy with baseball. He has improved so much over the last few weeks. I think his last game is the 23rd. He plays Mondays and wednesdays at 7:15 at Lincoln school if anyone wants to watch him play (:

Sawyer is just busy.....(: He is talking more everyday and repeats everything he hears. Just today I heard him singing a song off the new Alanis Morisette cd I play in my car. "One day, one day........" It was hysterical!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Touch of the dramatics and party pics

First I will start with my funny Jonnie story.....Tonight he fell off the rope that hangs off our climber. I saw him laying there on his back looking sad and yelling for Alaina to carry him in the house. I was getting Sawyer undressed to put him in the tub so I asked what happened, etc. and he told me and then laughed at Sawyer and called him Nakey boy, so I knew he was OK (just wanted to clarify that I made sure he was OK :)) Anyway, I left him outside and was upstairs giving Sawyer a bath. Alaina was doing something in her room at the time and I kept hearing Jonnie yelling for her (he was still in the same spot on his back). The next time I looked out he was dragging his body across the lawn like a paraplegic. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes-Sawyer was in the tub so I couldn't grab my camera. He would stop every so often and look up at the window to see if anyone was looking. It was honestly the funniest thing I have seen in awhile-it reminded me of the turtles dragging there heavy bodies across the sand (: Anyway, Alaina finally went out there to help him and she had to pick him up and carry him the rest of the way in the house. I went down to help her and he started screaming when I went to touch his legs (no tears). I told him we had to immediately go to the doctor because he kept screaming that he broke his legs! I took off his pants and looked everything over and told him to get his shoes on so we can go to the ER. He then looked at me and said, "I guessed I just scraped my knee" in a very calm, no big deal voice. Then he got up and walked away.....how dramatic, huh? And then it is all over (: I had a good laugh anyway!

Here are some pics of Alaina and Sawyer's birthday as well as some from the birthday party. On Alaina's birthday, she wanted to go swimming, so I took them to the pool. We were there for about a half hour and some storm clouds moved in and someone spotted lightening, so they closed the pool for a few hours. I felt bad for the kids, so we got our money back and went swimming at the Y instead. We had a lot of fun!

This next picture is on Sawyer's birthday. He was so excited to get his sand and water table! (So was Alaina:))
Here are pictures from the party-thanks for coming everyone! You made the day great for the kids! Here's Hunter, Sawyer and Grandma Karen eating lunch.

Sawyer and Tucker enjoying the water table. I may never put sand in it......

Sawyer had a hard time keeping his bathing suit up. I had so many adorable shots of his butt crack, but I love this one because he was getting it all wet (:

Pinata time-this was shortly before I somehow hurt Sawyer with the stick.....I will have to play back the video.

I made Sawyer a semi truck cake. He loved it and wanted to drive it. He got both candles blew out in one shot!

I bought Alaina a cake this year and later (in tears) she wondered why I didn't make her a special cake, too. I felt bad and will remember that from now on. I forget that is still such a special part of her birthday.

Opening presents.......

Grandma K bought all the kids sunglasses.

Yeah, he's tough here....haha!

After the party, while we were cleaning everything up, Sawyer decided to play with his cake and help himself (:

Thanks again everyone for the great gifts and celebrating their birthdays with us!
