Birthday Weekend

Well, I am finally getting my pictures of Alaina and Sawyer's birthday weekend on here. We decided to have their party on Friday eve. so Alaina could have her birthday on Saturday all to herself and Sawyer could have his to himself on Sunday. Alaina struggled this year with sharing her birthday with her brother, so we thought this was our best bet to avoid tears, jealousy, etc. and it worked! We had a great weekend and Alaina was happy throughout (:

I didn't want to make the same mistake as last year and buy Alaina's cake, so here is my attempt at making an "Ollie" cake for her. She loved it. I was going to put red food coloring in the cake, but I thought maybe that would be too much.

Sawyer is all about Spider man these days, so here is my easy version of a spidey cake. He loved it, too!
I decided to have the party at Games Lake this year to do something different and let the kids be able to swim. I rented a shelter and it was nicer than I thought! It was a lot of fun. Here are a few picks of us eating. It was funny because we even had people coming up to the window looking to buy food-they thought we were a food stand-I could of made a little money........

Grandpa Worm with his boys.

Here they are all trying to show off their BIG muscles! They were on there way to swim!

Sawyer kept saying, "I'm so brave."

Grandma Karen bought all the kids buckets and Jon and Alaina got some scuba gear.
Time to light Ollie on fire!

And then Spider man....

Jonnie reading a card to Sawyer.Saturday morning was Alaina's official birthday. She opened her gifts from us-an Mp3 player, a CD, and a new bike. She was happy (:

She also wanted to swim. I was thinking it was not meant to be because her friend got sick and couldn't come at the last minute and we couldn't get a hold of anyone else. That morning it was windy and rainy, but finally around 2:00 the sun came out. So, we headed in to the pool only to find out it was closed for no apparent reason. So we finally just went to the Y and the kids had fun-we were the only ones there for awhile with 3 life guards all staring at us. One of them even told me that since Sawer was under 5, I had to be in there with him-what exactly is their job? Anyway, I had to laugh because the same thing happened last year for her birthday and we ended up at the Y then, too.
Sunday was Sawyer's official day. He is so sweet and was just happy to be three and didn't even realize gifts were involved. How soon that innocence fades, right? He opened up a semi truck that is just like Jonnie's that Jonnie never lets him play with and also a ride-on tractor that he LOVES! He just rides it around all day, every day. It's the cutest thing!

He even makes tractor sounds while on it and Jon and I just sit and laugh at him because he talks to himself, hops off and "fixes" things and jumps back on like he's on a mission. It is so adorable!
We had a great weekend! Happy Birthday again you two!
