New Glasses!

Alaina got new glasses! I think they are adorable on her (can I say that about a 10 year old). They do make her look so different and older in a way. We briefly talked about contacts, but she said, "No way!" Fine by me (:

I will post better pictures later-she took these herself.

She is also busy thinking of ways to make money. I swear she will be an entrepreneur someday. Her latest.....she made this book of nail designs. She had me choose which design I wanted and then painted my nails for $.25. It was hard to choose because some of the designs were pretty outrageous! Plus, it wouldn't look very professional at work. So, I chose the least crazy of the bunch and here is a pictures of them. I felt like I had to explain to everyone at work the next day that my beautiful daughter painted them for me (: They have all peeled off and she is awaiting my next choice.....Her other current project she is working on is making toilet paper sheets for toddlers learning to pee. I think between her cousins and brother she is immersed in all things potty lately. Anyway, she colored sheets of toilet paper with markers and then wets it down so it looks like water colors. They turn out quite beautiful and I am proud of the art part of it. Not sure she will be able to sell squares of toilet paper, however. She currently has an entire bag full of them. I think I am going to talk her into making a collage of them all and hang it on her wall-they really are beautiful!

She also has a new best friend that likes to take up a big portion of her bed (: Dex is sure a BIG baby-and we all love it!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We were thrilled today as it was in the 50's!! Spring is finally on it's way-I couldn't stop smiling today!

Alaina's glasses are very nice, she is beautiful and would look nice in any frame, but I love her choice.
Wish I were closer, I would come and get my nails done.
Love, Sandy

Oh Alaina, you look so beautiful! Love the new glasses! We all love the bracelets, by the way, and I keep meaning to get everyone together so we can take a picture with them on (not as easy as it sounds...). :)

Does Alaina know about Etsy.com? It's a website for people who make homemade crafts and want to sell them. You get to design your own online "store" and you can sell anything you make. It sounds like she has a really creative side! Even if you don't think it's a good idea to create her own store, Etsy is also awesome for generating cool craft ideas... people make some really neat stuff.

Wish I could get my nails done, too! Maybe this summer. :)

I love hearing about all the ideas-very creative! Tell her I am booking my nail appt now for this summer :)
I love the toilet paper idea-but all I could think of was colored tushies when they used them :)

I love etsy-some very cool things :)

I love etsy, too! I should let her look around at the different shops-never thought to do that (:

Julie, I told her the same thing about the "colored" behinds. We even did an experiment where I put some drops on my hand and sure enough there was a big streak of color when I wiped (: she liked that it did that-haha. She then clarified for me that the squares are to put IN the water to change the water color so they would think it would be fun to go to the bathroom then-she might just have something there....(:

Peace is every step said...

Very nice glasses Laine! They look like mine :). I can just picture little toddlers with rainbow butts. I like what she's thinking about the changing water color....hmmmmm, tell her to research a dye that only changes color when in contact with pee. Genius.

Love Laina's new glasses. I need to get myself a pair! :) She's such a creative girl...and such a scientist, too. I can't wait to hear what she comes up with next.
I'd love to get my nails done, too, this summer. She'll be quite busy.
