Seven Random Things.....

So, I have been tagged and need to come up with seven random things about me. Some you may already know about me, some you may not (:

1. I am the biggest procrastinator I know. They is always later, or tomorrow, or next week to do things. That is the reason I am always late-I wait until the last minute to do anything then I am running around like crazy, mad at myself because I didn't get things done sooner and I am late. So, sorry everyone who waits for me, it is not me being disrespectful it is that I have once again been procrastinating. You would think that since I am aware of this it would change, but then maybe I'll start trying tomorrow (:

2. I have a really hard time with mouth saliva. That is on other people (not babies). I literally lose my appetite for hours or the whole day if I see anyone with drool running down their mouth. I am not proud of this fact because those that tend to have the drool are those that can't help or prevent it, but it still makes me gag.....

3. I love animals-all kinds and I could read books and watch shows about any kind of animal and love it! I miss working at the vet clinic because I miss all the animals! I especially love dogs and kissing their soft snouts (my favorite part). When I didn't have kids, my dogs were everything to me and I know when my kids are grown, I will be the crazy dog lady again (:

4. I cry at everything. That is nothing new to those that know me, but my heart aches for those that are struggling or are in pain. I sometimes can't sleep if I have watched something sad or read about something and think of all the people in pain in the world. That is partly why I would love to be a foster parent someday and the reason I have to hold myself back from the Humane Society. I also cry at happy moments, too. Especially if my children do something sweet or accomplish something or I just well up with love for them at times (:

5. I hate shopping! I get physically sick if I am in the mall too long. Some think that is weird, but I am happy doing all my shopping online (: Except Target, I enjoy going there....

6. Not a workaholic(even though I married one). I am just as happy as the kids when there is a snow day or I take off work when they are sick. I do like my job, but I am just as happy being at home with the kids (: Part of this is the fact that I am not a morning person and any chance I can get to sleep in later, I am all for it!!

7. I sing at home all the time-even though I am horrible and would be mortified if anybody but my family heard me. I sing anything from Opera (the kids favorite-haha) to country. Not only do I sing to everything, but I have to include some dancing along with it-I always grab a kid or two. Even though they roll their eyes at times, I know they love it! Jonnie is a lot like me and will just break into song-I love it!!

Well, there you have it. I am supposed to tag other people, but I really don't know who to tag!

I'm in love....

With my new camera!! I am having so much fun figuring everything out and there are so many cool features on it. I ended up getting a Canon Powershot and I love it! So watch out, you might be bombarded with pictures for awhile (:
Well....as soon as I figure everything out-I think it is now time to get a new computer (:

Friday Night Fun!

Last weekend Alaina made Brownies at Grandma Karen's house all by herself. So I was giddy for her to start baking at our house! So here she is making Brownies all by herself tonight. I didn't have to help her at all (: Well, maybe just once to take them out of the oven.


She is so careful making sure to get it all right. I hope she loves to bake as she gets older so she can help her mother in that department (:

Meanwhile, while Alaina was baking and I was on the phone, Sawyer decided to help himself to a snack....



He poured the box of Kix all over the floor and proceded to play and dance in it. Since it was all over the floor anyway, I let him have a little fun before I cleaned it up.

Time to clean up! He had even more fun cleaning them up!

We have no weekend plans except tomorrow I am in search of a new camera-I am having a lot of trouble with this one and quality is getting worse as you can tell in the pictures. I don't even have a clue what is a great camera and trying to research them is so hard because there are so many!! Any advice would be welcome (:

Goal Time!

O.k. I think if I right down my goals for the holiday season, I will feel more accountable for getting them done and then I will have a list to look at....Here we go!

1. Have all my gifts bought 2 weeks before X-mas so I can actually enjoy the season instead of running around like a mad woman, completely stressed out, and no time to do any of the fun stuff.
Yes, I am one of those crazy people on x-mas eve still trying to buy my gifts-and unfortunately it ends up being quite a few.

2. Do some holiday baking. I haven't for the last couple years and I am blaming it on the baby (: That is one tradition I love to do with the kids so I have to make sure I do it this year. Unless the pre-made Pillsbury sugar cookies count, but I am thinking no. One cookie I for sure want to do is roll out sugar cookies and have lots of decorations and frosting and letting the kids go to town!

3. Buy new Christmas decorations. This may seem simple enough but for some reason I have been using the same ones for years now and it is time for a change! If only they weren't so expensive and if only I was more crafty (but that is not one of my goals :)).

4. To decorate my house from room to room. This has fallen short the last couple years, as well. I am lucky to get the tree up and a wreath outside and once again I am blaming the baby (: This year I want x-mas candles, kitchen towels, placemats, the nativity scene, etc. out and decorations all over the house. We'll just have to put Sawyer in a cage.

5. String the outside lights before the first snow fall and before it gets to 30 below. It seems every year we (we meaning Jon) are hurrying to get the lights out on the coldest, windiest day. So the goal I guess is to get him to do it earlier. I would love to have a ton on lights all around the house but I don't think that is neccessarily Jon's goal (:

6. To go to all the fun holiday activities-The holidaze parade, the Santa train, visit Santa, etc. We didn't do any of it last year because of, once again, the baby-sorry little buddy I don't mean to blame you for everything....(: It is just that he was a little baby then and it was too cold to bring him anywhere-but I am not complaining-I would love to be home holding and snuggling him any day! He is really going to love Christmas this year-I can't wait!

7. Watch all the old Christmas shows with my family-there are so many I love-"It's a Wonderful Life", "A Christmas Carol", and you can't forget "Rudolph" and "Frosty the Snowman." Oh, and I guess you have to include "Charlie Brown." Even though that is not my favorite, but the kids enjoy it!

8. To give more~to the Food Shelf, Salvation Army, get tickets off the Giving Tree and buy gifts for the needy, make donations to a charity-last year our family gave a donation to help inner city children through.....I am drawing a blank to what the organization was-but my family knows (;

9. RELAX and enjoy myself! It is such a magical time of year and I want to enjoy it and remember the true meaning of Christmas and not get so wrapped up in the gift buying. That is one joy of being a Sunday School teacher-I get to teach the kids, as well as my own, why we are celebrating Christmas. This year for church the kids are putting on a play and Alaina has a big part and Jonnie has a speaking part, so I am so excited!! I will be more nervous for them on the big day though (:

Whew! I will probably add to my goals, but that is a good start! If you see me (hopefully it won't be on x-mas eve) feel free to ask me how they are coming along (: A life long goal of mine is to not procrastinate and if I don't do that I think I will get all my goals accomplished-wish me luck!

It works!!

I was very skeptical the Vicks would work, but it did! It is amazing-he didn't cough once after I put it on, slept all night with no coughing and even woke up-NOT coughing!! That was the true test. I am going to use it every time now (: He said he coughed at school, but that doesn't count since I wasn't expecting a total cure. Try it for yourself and see if it works!

Couple highlights of the day~

Jonnie has had a cough for the last few days or so and awhile back I got an email saying that if you put Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of your feet and cover them with socks it will stop you from coughing. Something about the soles of your feet can absorb oils. So, tonight I rubbed Jonnie's feet with Vick's (he just loves the "special" treament) and he was out like a light (: There is something about that smell that knocks you out, isn't there? I will keep you posted if it works-his cough is really bad in the morning so that will be the true test. Hopefully it works!

A sad moment happened after supper~Jon went to get something out of the garage and didn't see Sawyer watching him from inside the house and leaning on the door. Anyway, you can guess what happened-Jon whipped open the door and Sawyer went flying out face first onto the cement steps. He hit his top lip and it is now really swollen, but his teeth were OK!! That is the first thing I look at whenever he falls on his face (: We were all pretty shaken up and Jonnie even cried because he thought his little buddy was really hurt. Sawyer gets over things so fast and was running around within minutes, but Jon (husband) gets so worked up and almost nauseous seeing his little boy hurt-I think he was more upset than Sawyer!


I ended the day snuggling with my boys and watching you guessed it-Dancing with the Stars (:
We all love it-as you can tell by Jonnie's face! After awhile, Alaina is usually up dancing around!
